The local government unit of Pagbilao, headed by Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, through the Municipal Health Office (MHO) celebrated the 2017 National Dental Health Month throughout the month of February. In relation to the event, the MHO held Slogan Contest and On-the-Spot Poster-Making Contest. Winners are announced February 20, 2017 during the LGU’s flag raising ceremony at the Municipal Covered Court.
The slogan writing contest and on-the-spot poster-making contest are both participated by senior high school students.
In the slogan contest, Jhun Lorenz Amandy of Pagbilao Grande Island National High School was hailed grand winner and received a trophy and P3,000 as prizes. Ylaine Eunice Felicia of Talipan National High School seized the first runner-up spot, while Ira Angelica Morales of Sil. Malicboy National High School managed to grab the second runner-up spot. Each received a trophy and a cash prize of P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
In the on-the-spot poster-making contest, Art Dave Calusin of Talipan National High School notched the first place, garnering him a trophy and P3,000 cash prize. Zailan Aquino of Pagbilao Grande Island National High School won the second place, while Romel Garcia of Sil. Malicboy National High School bagged the third place. Both received a trophy and a cash prize of P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Ngiping Inaalagaan at Pinagyaman, Hatid ay Ngiting ‘di Kukupas Kailanman.” Dr. Mariam V. Merluza, municipal dentist, led the activities in relation to the annual month-long celebration.
The winning entries in the slogan writing contest are as follows:
Grand Winner: “Ngiting handog, galak ang idinudulot. Kaya ngipi’y pangalagaan, ito’y kayamanan”
1st runner-up: “Ang ngiting hindi magagaya, sa ngiping pinagyaman at inaruga makikita!”
2nd runner-up: ”Matitibay na ngipin, ating mahalin. Ngiting may pag-asa, habang-buhay kasama.”
