In line with the celebration of 2017 National Women’s Month this March, the local government unit of Pagbilao, under the leadership of Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, held a zumba activity and officially opened the Pagbilao Product Display Center, March 30, 2017.
The dance-exercise activity was participated by members of Kapisanan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) – Pagbilao. Right after, Mayor Palicpic, along with Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and KALIPI women, officially opened the Pagbilao Product Display Center through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The display center is located at the first floor of Sentrong Pangkabuhayan Building.
RIC women will be handling the display center where Pagbilao-produced products, such as turmeric, suman, coco jam, polvoron, espasol and even souvenir t-shirts, are sold. It will be open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. RIC members produced the products themselves as a fruit of frequently undergoing LGU-sponsored livelihood and skills training programs.
Mayor Palicpic requested that the display center be sustained.
Meanwhile, along the stairs heading to the second floor of Sentrong Pangkabuhayan Building, Pagbilaoins can find the “wall of fame” where large photos showing women empowerment in different societal sectors are exhibited.
