Municipal Planning and Development Officer (MPDO) Casiano Ayapana and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Benny Camacho attended the Seal of Good Local Governance 2017 awarding ceremony in behalf of the Local Government Unit of Pagbilao and Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, November 24, 2017 at the Manila Hotel.
In the same ceremony, MPDO Ayapana and MLGOO Camacho received the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to LGU Pagbilao.
Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic with MPDO Ayapana and MLGOO Camacho presented the Seal to the employees, department heads and officials of the LGU on November 27, 2017 during the Flag Raising Ceremony.
The Seal of Good Local Governance is considered as the highest achievement given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to local government units and local leaders. It is awarded annually by the DILG to deserving LGUs across the country that were able to meet the much stricter “4+1” assessment criteria set by the same Department.
This 2017, for a local government unit to be awarded the prestigious and highly-coveted Seal, it needs to pass all of the four (4) core areas: Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, and Peace and Order; and at least one (1) of these areas: Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; Environmental Protection; and Tourism, Culture, and the Arts.
Alongside the Municipality of Pagbilao, six (6) more municipalities in Quezon Province received the SGLG 2017. This includes the Municipalities of Gumaca, Mauban, Mulanay, Panukulan, San Antonio and Unisan. The Province of Quezon is also a recipient of the 2017 SGLG.
The SGLG 2017 marker, one of the many solid proofs of LGU Pagbilao’s efficient, just and corruption-free governance, is now installed at the entrance of the Pagbilao Municipal Building.
