To prepare barangays and their residents for inevitable natural and man-caused calamities and disasters, the local government unit of Pagbilao under the guidance of Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic and through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMO) headed by Delfin Magana conducted Evacuation and Disaster Drills in four barangays. Similar drills will be held in other barangays.
MDRRMO staff and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) manned the evacuation and disaster drills in Barangay Binahaan on May 30, Barangay Bantigue on June 8, Barangay Silangang Malicboy on June 13, Barangay Kanlurang Malicboy on June 14, and Barangay Ibabang Polo on June 16.
Meanwhile, similar drills were also held in Barangay Ilayang Polo on June 20, Barangay Ibabang Palsabangon on June 22, Barangay Santa Catalina on June 28, Barangay Pinagbayanan on June 30, and Barangay Mapagong on July 4.
As part of the drill, the MDRRMO staff and ERT members teach the residents and barangay officials the use of disaster equipment donated by the Coalition of Services of the Elderly, Inc. The municipal government has been conducting disaster drills to arm every Pagbilaoin with know-hows on saving their lives and those of their loved ones during tough times.
