The Ceremonial Signing of the MOU happened May 17, 2017 at Bulwagang Kalilayan in Lucena City.
Aside from Pagbilao, the Municipalities of San Antonio, Sampaloc, Mauban, Lucban, Candelaria and Real, and the City of Tayabas were selected by Meralco as beneficiaries of its “Energizing Partnerships Program”.
The partnership projects agreed upon under the MOU include Disaster Preparedness and Safety Programs, Social Health Programs, Events and Festivities Participation, Sports and Youth Advocacy Programs, Energy Conservation and Efficiency Programs, Various Environmental Programs and Activities, Community Electrification Programs, Structural Projects, Involvement in Yearly Budget Preparations, Advance List of Building Permit Applications, and Strategic Planning.
The LGU Pagbilao, as well as the seven other LGUs, are expected to take into consideration these undertakings for Merlaco: expedite processing of permit applications, expedite payment of electric bills, promotion of public safety and prevention of electric pilferage, and assistance to information dissemination.
In behalf of Pagbilao Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, Vice Mayor Joseph Garcia and Municipal Engineer Angelito Ayala represented the LGU. VM Garcia was the one who signed the MOU between the LGU Pagbilao and Meralco.
