The Alternative Learning System (ALS) of Pagbilao produced twenty-nine (29) graduates this academic year 2014-2015 along with their fellow takers in Mauban, Lucban and Sampaloc, July 2 at Mauban East II Elementary School.
High school graduates in Pagbilao from the ALS program of Department of Education (DepEd) consists of Alona Jane Argarin, Analiza Ayaay, Maryrose Baracael, Jessica Rosales-Barbacena, Roselyn Buante, Lyra Cacao, Joenaliza Del Rosario, John Harold Diesta, Nelia Dinglasan, Rosalyn Gablanca, Rodney Liwag, Jessa Gaberi-Lloren, Engelyn Advincula, Giosa Luna, Maybeth Lusabia, Jayson Lusterio, Mark Anthony Macaraeg, Susana Mahinay, Jennelyn Mananghaya, Mary Joy Merle, Loumiela Faye Mirandilla, Maricar Morales, John Jerico Neri, Ronalyn Pabellosa, France Rylyn Panganiban, Rosiel Rosialda, Ryan Suarez, and Jean Adriane Orgas.
On the other hand, Donna Mae Alvez is the sole graduate in the elementary level.
In the 29 graduates, nine were recognized as Outstanding Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Passers. Buante and Cacao received silver medals; while Barbacena, Dinglasan, Lloren, Luna, Lusterio, Rosialda, and Suarez were awarded bronze.
During the program, DepEd-ALS gave Certificate of Recognition to the people who helped the graduates achieved what they are now. They were Municipal Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, Municipal Vice-Mayor Manuel Luna, Public Schools District Supervisor Aurea Gandia, Pagbilao Central Elementary School Principal Beatriz De Castro, Brgy. Ilayang Polo Captain Roosevelt “Toto” Predeña, District ALS Coordinator Buena Jaro, Mobile Teacher Marife Luna, Secondary ALS Coordinators Pedrito Mercurio and Evangeline Mañebo, and Instructional Managers Rogelio Manalo and Ferdinand Merle.
The ALS program of DepEd is a parallel learning system in the country that provides a practical option to the existing formal instruction. When one does not have or cannot access formal education in schools, ALS is an alternate or substitute.
