Pagbilao senior citizens flocked together for the Municipal Celebration of the 2017 Elderly Filipino Week, October 19, 2017 at the Municipal Covered Court.
Gracing the event were Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Sonia Leyson, Councilor Jeffrey Tiñana, Councilor Lolito Merle, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Emerita Madla, Executive Secretary Venus Portes and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs Chairperson Primitiva Memorando.
During the celebration, PSWDO Leyson reminded the elderly citizens about the DSWD’s Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC). The SPISC is only available to indigent individuals age 60 years and up; who are suffering from illnesses and/or disability; who do not receive pension from SSS, GSIS or any government or private agencies; who do not have regular source of income or do not receive financial help from relatives.
This year’s Elderly Filipino Week celebration is themed “Pagkilala sa Kakayahan, Ambag at Paglahok ng mga Nakatatanda sa Lipunan”.
