The Municipality of Pagbilao under the leadership of Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic has once again been part of the biggest festivity in Quezon Province, the Niyogyugan Festival held from August 12 to August 27 this year. PagbilaWINS also bagged awards in the Festival’s various competitions.
Living up to their tag as “PagbilaWINS”, D’ Magnificent Crew and The Fierce Monsterz seized the first two feats for their municipality. D’ Magnificent Crew notched the Championship, while The Fierce Monsterz the first runner-up spot, in the Hiphop Category of Niyogyugan Festival 2017 Dance Competition held August 17 at the Quezon Provincial Capitol grounds.
Marisa Porta, Noime Palacio and Rhodora Catamio of RIC (Rural Improvement Club)-Castillo won in the Festival’s Cooking Contest – Dessert Category. Their delectable, truly mouth-watering Leche Macapuno was hailed Best Dessert, outdoing other sweets from all over Quezon Province. The Niyogyugan Festival 2017 Cooking Contest was held August 18 at the Quezon Provincial Capitol grounds.
The Pagbilao Niyogyugan Street Dancers stunned the crowd with their spirited performance, both along the Lucena City Streets and inside the Quezon Convention Center. In the end, PagbilaWIN dancers took home the first runner-up spot from the Festival’s Street Dance Competition, August 27.
PagbilaWIN beauty, Niña Alyssa Losloso represented the municipality in the Binibining Niyogyugan 2017 pageant held August 25. The tallest among the thirty-one (31) candidates, Niña ended up as one of the Top Ten (10) Finalists. Despite failing to seize the Binibining Niyogyugan 2017 crown, Niña won hearts with her sweet yet determined personality.
Another gorgeous PagbilaWIN, Louise Nicole Rodriguez hosted the Binibining Niyogyugan 2017 Coronation Night, as well as the Pre-Pageant and Talent Competition, August 12.
The Pagbilao Niyogyugan Booth, inspired by the view deck inside the world-famous Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest (PMEF) in Brgy. Iba. Palsabangon, also earned good remarks not just from Pagbilao citizens but also from other Quezonians.
The Niyogyugan Festival is the official festivity of Quezon Province held annually to showcase the culture, civilization and creativity of Quezonians.
