Qualifying examination is currently on-going for the less privileged but deserving students of different public primary schools located in the municipality through its Municipal Education Assistance Program (MEAP) also known as Serbisyong Palicpic Scholarship Program.
The purpose of the examination is to determine the intellectual capacity of the students who would meet the required grade to qualify for the scholarship program.
Serbisyong Palicpic scholars in the college level receive P5,000 every semester or a total of P10,000vper school year for all college levels. Scholars in the senior high school and junior high school levels receive P2,500 and P4,000 every year, respectively.
The Serbisyong Palicpic Scholarship Program aims to have a total of 1,000 Pagbilaowin beneficiaries by next year so that large number of the youth would have the opportunity to finish their education and achieve their dreams and aspirations in life so that they can be able to help their families.
At present, the said program caters to 198 high school students, 112 junior and senior high school students and 167 college students as of February of this year.
A total of 19 students from the aforementioned schools took the exam and would have their orientation regarding the program on April 18 at the conference room of the Municipal Administrator’s Office.
The said qualifying examination happened last February 19 and 20 of the current year at Bigo and Malicboy West Elementary School. These are the first two schools visited by the Office of the Muncipal Mayor’s Staff and the other public elementary schools will be visited anytime soon.
The scholarship program implementation is in accordance with Municipal Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2012 or An Ordinance Establishing the Municipal College Education Assistance Program in the Municipality of Pagbilao authored by then-Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Education and Culture chair Shierre Ann P. Palicpic. #PagbilaoWINS #SerbisyongPalicpic
